You will have to solve puzzles and listen to a lot of talking to sort things out, but it’s absolutely worth taking the time to experience this game. As with The Longest Journey, the way all of these universes come together is wonderful and makes for a fantastic adventure story.Īs stated before, the game is closer to a point-and-click adventure than an action adventure title. You may play one part as one character, and the next part as someone totally different. There are alternate universes that are existing simultaneously. Speaking of worlds, you don’t play as only one character. It’s easy to get lost in the background as you walk through each world. The graphics are beautiful, aside from the lips not lining up with the words, but that seems to be a common problem throughout gaming today. As you make these decisions, the screen will tell you “So-and-so remembers your decision,” which is quite ominous for someone like me who is a little OCD. You will also have to make some larger decisions that could potentially effect your world and those around you. Each task only immerses you into the story a little more than before, making you feel like you really do have a place in this universe. There are times the game feels monotonous there are small tasks for you to perform, such as delivering your boyfriend’s meal or convincing some person to do the right thing. Each character you meet is very unique and fascinating, and you will feel drawn to get to know about the characters. It’s quite apparent the amount of time the writers took to create this world in which you play. What makes the game excellent is the dialogue and how much was put into the backstory. You, as the gamer, are left to relearn things with her as memories return. Zöe is trying to figure things out, and it appears she has no memory of any events from the previous game. At the onset, there isn’t a lot for the player to fully understand (unless you play through the 2006 Xbox title), and I believe that’s intentional. Convinced she must return to reality, she comes out of her coma, and the game begins. You play as Zöe Castillo, still within her coma state, trying to sort things out. $30.00 (US), this game takes place where the last game left off.
